i don't know man, try to make it a social thing? force yourself to run for now if losing weight quick is a big deal for whatever reason. but join some team sports leagues? play tennis with a buddy? allowing yourself to watch tv ONLY when you run sounds like a good idea. never did it myself but i can see it working.

Solid coconut oil is great to cook with, but you can't put it in a protein shake without having to eat chunks.

Also, you entirely missed the point -- the type of coconut oil that's solid at room temperature is 2/3 MCTs, whether u melt it or not. The type that's liquid at room temp is 100% MCTs, even better for you and promotes ketosis even faster. Anyhoo, I'm finally losing weight again. Thank Jesus.

He asked how many lbs he could lose, not how to lose it. Losing weight is all about going caloric deficient. You need to know his current weight to calculate what caloric intake or amount of exercise is needed for him to be caloric deficient.
