I'm abt 20 lbs overweight and tend to drink abt 1 glass of water a day.
If I can increase to 1 gallon a day, will that help me lose weight?

i'm with you bro.
i had 3 cherry zeros today and one glass of water first thing this morning.
my doctor told me that diet soda is 99% water, and your body gets hydration just as well from that, no water required.
weight loss has nothing to do with hydration (dehydration causes temporary water-weight loss, but this is not what you want). it's all about calorie restriction.

well, that's absurd--raw sewage, too, is 99% water. obviously all things that are 99% water are not created equal, and i wasn't saying that.
but diet soda is very low in sodium (unlike sea water), and is otherwise non-harmful. it hydrates your body as well as water.
and no, "aspartame" is not going to hurt you.
