i am more centrist now but in 2000 after the contentious election, i used to read salon.com and they would link to tons of crazy threads on freerepublic. i loved reading freerepublic for the lulz. it was hilarious to read about the fantasy world the conservatives there constructed. but sure enough, over 8 years of bush a lot of those wacky and extreme causes crept into real legislation.
