"Me so hungry!" the Asian man says, and everyone in the diner tries to avoid giving him attention. "I rike a eat a omeret. I rike a eat a hash brown. I rike a eat a waffer."

"It'll be ready in a minute, sir," the waitress tells him. She checks on the progress in the kitchen. The pale Irish girl is fighting back tears. "It's OK, hun," the waitress says to her. "You're doing just fine. Say, who was that handsome fellow that dropped you off this morning? The tall fellow with the brown hair and deep blue eyes."
