So every Dolphins player likes Incognito, dislikes Martin?

Having spoken with an unnamed player who left the Dolphins during the offseason, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported on Wednesday that the players in the Miami locker room not only didn't view Incognito as a racist but actually considered him an "honorary black guy."
"Richie is honarary," the unnamed player told Salguero on Wednesday. "I don't expect you to understand because you're not black. But being a black guy, being a brother is more than just about skin color. It's about how you carry yourself. How you play. Where you come from. What you've experienced. A lot of things."

backing up the vet is lockerroom code, its quite simple. since when do brain-damaged athletes decide what is and isn't criminal?
I have no idea why the audio hasn't been released, it really doesn't matter.
I didn't say anything about homophobia, you are clearly unhinged.

Libs trayvonning again.
Admit that you know next to nothing about the situation, except that it engages a buzzword that is an ideological interest of yours -- bullying. And that it involves race.
The narrative created by the media thus far -- that Incognito is a racist psychopath terrorizing a smart gay black man lacks any nuance and is not supported by the people who actually are close to the situation.
After Trayvon, shouldnt you be a little more skeptical of such unambiguous good/evil media narratives, especially when they deal with liberal pet causes?
Not only are almost all the players stepping forward to say that Richie is not a psychopath or a racist, they are also saying that Martin's motives are murky, that Martin publicly shared and laughed about the voicemail, that Martin recently considered Incognito his best friend on the team, that the $15k trip to Vegas is something Martin committed to going on, and then backed out after the purchases were made, that Incognito occupied a racial space where black guys considered him an "honorary brother" (something that doesnt fit your lib worldview) etc etc.
Libs are going to get pwned on this again because of their willingness to commit blindly to any lib-friendly media narrative.

Let me sum this non-issue up for the board:
Anyone who ever took part in a team activity that cultivated a brotherhood knows that this is bullshit, and anyone with a healthy amount of skepticism will, at the very least, wait for the facts to come out before condemning Incognito.
Everyone else is beta, was bullied, never played sports or joined the military and is probably gay.

If you juxtapose the reaction of players and commentators who were players against the reaction to Riley Cooper, you realize there's a lot more to this story. Everyone that could find a microphone was after Cooper. Incognito, while an ass hole, clearly has the respect of a lot of people in his locker room.
I've done a complete 180 on this story since it came out and anyone that's paying attention to what everyone says should reconsider their position. Every player is backing him. Do I think this was the right way to go about improving Martin's toughness, or anything like that? No. At the same time, do I think Incognito is a racist who was legitimately threatening to kill him? Of course not.
Incognito's a dick, but being a dick isn't criminal and it's something that works in football.
I had a friend that made a good analogy. It's similar to that kid at Rutgers who got railroaded when the gay kid killed himself. If you have all of your communications or even worse, selected communications, read back/listened to in full, it's not going to look good. I bet that's the case for most people.

No, I said his past transgressions as well as the more recent stuff tends to make me believe allegations that he's an belligerent asshole. Of course, we'll have to wait until a fuller report is released but I'm sure there is much much more here than is being reported. The voicemails/texts and the financial allegations got the ball rolling. Either he broke NFL rules or not. I'll leave that for the NFL investigators to decide.
Also RICHIE DIN DO NUFFIN just ask Markqueez

Don't be an idiot. Incognito had been on the team for years and had relationships with his teammates. Of course they are going to come to his defense.
A rookie by definition will me have had any time to create these relationships.

Martin flaked out. He abandoned his team in the middle of their season. I have nothing good to say about his actions.
The fact that some are using that to defend Incognito - a guy who, among other things, was convicted of assault for beating someone up, takes pride in being one of the dirtiest players in the league, was kicked out of two major D1 programs for being a dumbass, and because of that dumbassery was taken off the draft board by two of the most successful organizations in the NFL (Pats and Colts) - is a complete fucking joke.

Personal Conduct Policy:
All persons associated with the NFL are required to avoid "conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League." This requirement applies to players, coaches, other team employees, owners, game officials and all others privileged to work in the National Football League.
For many years, it has been well understood that rules promoting lawful, ethical, and responsible conduct serve the interests of the League, its players, and fans. Illegal or irresponsible conduct does more than simply tarnish the offender. It puts innocent people at risk, sullies the reputation of others involved in the game, and undermines public respect and support for the NFL.
Standard of Conduct:
While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful. Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime. Discipline may be imposed in any of the following circumstances:
Criminal offenses including, but not limited to, those involving: the use or threat of violence; domestic violence and other forms of partner abuse; theft and other property crimes; sex offenses; obstruction or resisting arrest; disorderly conduct; fraud; racketeering; and money laundering;
Criminal offenses relating to steroids and prohibited substances, or substances of abuse;
Violent or threatening behavior among employees, whether in or outside the workplace;
Possession of a gun or other weapon in any workplace setting, including but not limited to stadiums, team facilities, training camp, locker rooms, team planes, buses, parking lots, etc., or unlawful possession of a weapon outside of the workplace;
Conduct that imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person; and
Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players.

I think that you've made the best argument that can be made on behalf of lowlife Incognito. Still:
1. He's a dick, so I'm happy that bad things are happening to him.
2. He's an extremely dirty player, so I'll be happy if he can't play in the NFL anymore.
3. He's a moron who has been discarded and/or intentionally passed over by quality programs/organizations, which is about the least "alpha" thing imaginable.
4. Morons on this board who defend Richie Incognito should shut the fuck up.

I didn't say he's a dirty player - NFL people KNOW he's a dirty player.
I didn't say he's a dick (which, by the way, is not the opposite of being a "nice guy" - it's the opposite of "not being a dick"). He's proven to be a dick over the past decade+.
You're not even responding to what I wrote, so I don't understand why you're still talking.

you literally just said both of those things and I think being a dick is the opposite of being a nice guy
anyway what are you trying to argue about man I agree with what you wrote, but I think the insight into the locker room is interesting
who are you?

As I said, I would stipulate that...
A) He is an ass hole that wouldn't be able to handle a normal life/job
B) He's a dirty player.
HOwever, where I defend him is that the fact that he's had trouble at other stops, he's been removed from draft boards and he's been kicked out of schools/off teams should weigh in his favor here. These are issues relating to how he fits into team culture. Something which he was clearly doing in Miami. It seems that the coaches knew if not encouraged this (which was stupid, because they know his personality and behavior past and that it could get away from him).
Right now, the only thing that really is going hard against him is the voicemail. However, notice we haven't heard that and that early transcripts indicated laughing going on. These weren't legitimate threats, they were locker room shittalking.
As far as the player conduct rules go. Unless you take his phone threats as legitimate (which makes you dumb and the conversation is over) then really the only issue is that this has become something detrimental to the league/team. How many things that go on in locker rooms would be detrimental to the league/team? Again, I understand the point that unwritten rules and locker room stuff is all fine until it gets released, but when you're using a catchall like actions detrimental to the team, you have to view this from a light of understanding what goes on regularly and make your punishment commensurate.
