Finance AP starting salaries are ~$200K, plus there is a lot of consulting work you can do on the side ($$$)if you want to do academics. Finance PhDs are WAY more valued in industry than Accounting PhDs
But if you can get into a "top" Accountancy PhD program, the lifestyle at a decent b-school is pretty shweet. |

They asked me to teach Biz law and take over the "accounting dept" the following semester. Granted, this was not academia. I hated it. I would be done with my class about 30 minutes before every class was supposed to end because I ran out of things to talk about. I would stick around til the official time was over and help students with issues they couldn't understand. It was pretty awful, TBH.
If I were you, I'd try teaching at a CC first to see if you even like teaching. I hated it. |
