Eazy-E replied to Dr. Dre in the hit single, Real muthafuckin G's. Here, Eazy-E decimated Dre with references to Dre's comical background. The beat, composed by Rhytum D, proved more sophisticated than any of Dre's work.

But after this short beef between the two gangsta-rap giants, American audiences wondered whether they had reconciled their differences. Unfortunately, Eazy-E died of AIDS in 1995, and this feud was quickly forgotten.

But in Dr. Dre's 2001 album, Dre voiced his sorrow. In the song, What's the Difference, Dre, for the first time since 1992, mentioned Eazy-E's name on a record. He rapped, "Eazy I'm still with you, fuck the beef nigga—I miss you. And that's just being real with you." And most recently, Dre's 2011 single, I Need A Doctor, also referenced Eazy-E. The featured music video showed Dre visiting Eazy-E's grave in Rose Hills, CA.

Did Dre and Eazy-E ever reconcile their differences? Perhaps not. That may be a reason why Dr. Dre hasn't released his long-awaited album, Detox. He needs the presence of his dead homie, whom without, Dre can't find motivation to continue producing hits.
