Here's my take: I think you are on to something that Jews are viewed as another similar but different and competitive animal. And indeed, the coyote to dog analogy is pretty good. But I think that is because Jews are inherently clannish and the religion is exclusive rather than inclusive. Therefore, while Christians want others to join their group and will happily feed and clothes poor people who join their ranks, Jews will tell a starving Christian willing to convert to fuck off, leave and starve somewhere else. That rubs people the wrong way for fairly obvious reasons. Plus, they have a different culture that tends to come off as non-native.

The obvious wealth just sort of exacerbates the issue. Here is a group that lives along side you but isn't one of you. They don't care about you or yours and their loyalty is purely to each other. You are not welcome to join them, and it isn't a matter of your beliefs, it is that you weren't born as one of them. There is a conversion process but it is intentionally difficult. They don't want their kids dating your kids, they don't eat most of your food, and their culture doesn't align. Even their sense of humor is different. But they're rich as fuck even though they're a tiny portion of the population.

Now, even if they were poor as fuck they would attract negative attention. Take Gypsies for example, who are poor and also strange and foreign and are universally hated. Granted, they do some obnoxious shit but even without that I suspect they would be reviled.

Long story short, diversity isn't something people naturally accept.

Pick the reason. Deicide? A lot of folks thought powerful Jews for millennia were ultimately responsible for killing Jesus. Greed? Christian were not permitted to lend money at interest for centuries, thus this necessary role came to be filled by Jews. Jews came to be associated with banking, money-lending and eventually came to be associated with all the excesses and pitfalls of capitalism and exploitation. Success? Respect for family, and above all, education, is what propels most Jews to success. Also, we all have Jewish mothers. With this incredibly strong drive to achieve and succeed, other perceive to be a desire for power and control. Really, a lot of us just don't want to disappoint mommy. They love money? Everyone loves money, so whatevz. Conspiracy theories, i.e Jews control the world, Jews are communists, Jews are the most ruthless capitalists, they exploit etc. There have always been crazy conspiracy theories and there have always been people who believe them. They have been directed at all kinds of people. Jews just happen to occupy a certain place in society at various nexuses of money and clout that give a lot of people (for them, a justified, in reality, a tenuous) foundation upon which to enact their worst fantasies, theories or ideas. Jews have also had sophisticated false propaganda levied against them like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion which people take to be fact. Because they're different? Of course, minorities are often targeted for persecution and historically, Jews were remained insular and were strongly endogamous, shunning non-Jews and Gentile populations around them (although this has changed quite drastically in the last century through now) and people tend to be turned off by this. It comes off as clannish. Over half of Jews in America now marry outside the faith and most aren't even religious. And then, good old fashioned jealousy is probably part of it too. Everyone hates on people who are more successful than them, though I do not believe jealousy is a primary motivator or anything more than a small component of historical, world-wide anti-Semitism. There are plenty of poor Jews or Jews who are not "successful" in the modern, material sense. So it's probably a mix of all these factors which keeps the age old spectre of anti-Semitism alive.
