I didn't really mind the unhinged brother or Rappaport. What made it a worse season overall was that there was no real kingpin at the top. Rappaport was just dumb. He wasn't shrewd and calculating like Mags Bennett. It just wasn't that interesting watching some doofus taken down. It would have been a decent side story, but they made it the main attraction. Anytime you show your main antagonist or anti-hero getting outsmarted and outplayed by a character as dumb as Rappaport's, you're diminishing all the work you put in elevating Boyd. Maybe that was the point but it definitely leaves me less enthusiastic for the Raylan vs Boyd showdown than I would have been a couple seasons ago.
