They farm it out to medical review companies who basically work up the case for you, i.e., compile the medicals into an organized file complete with a nice summary and locate and generate expert reports for you. Then the attorney charges these costs (which would typically be borne by the attorney in the form of, you know, performing the work himself) to the client's portion of the settlement. Just lol. "pls provide procedural summary for the client for the 10th time". it's all just BS to inflate hours at defense firms. i've never heard of defense firms willingly giving hours away. the rates are absurdly low. Depositions are key as fuck in these cases, and you have to have your shit together going into the depo.
Correct me if I am wrong, but these things don't even start to settle until after depos are done, a lot of the time, right? |
