Apparently he has the ability to see when people arrive to work and when they leave work based on the parking garage card. So he constantly checks that vs. reported billable hours. He also gets irate if he notices people who consistently leave at an earlier than appropriate time. Jfc boomers.

to be fair, he's a CPA, not an attorney. and I think it has more to do with the fact that over a certain # billed for the year he pays them like 50% of the $$$/hours collected or some shit. i bet he doesn't tell the clients they are getting overbilled. he probably uses it to underpay his employees.

He was telling me at a BBQ on Sunday that he had to fire someone a few years ago because he realized they were fraudulently billing clients. Dude would always get there at like 10 a.m. and leave at like 4 p.m but bill like 8+ hours a day.

I went on vacation with him once. We arrived late Friday afternoon, and he literally called the receptionist and asked her to report who was still at work. He wanted to catch people who snuck out early because the boss was out of the office.

I had a boss who did this once, before i was a lolyer. He came back and screamed at everyone on Monday b/c the bitch secretary told him the entire office had gone golfing, which was true.

Why would a partner have that?

Every building I've been in only gives tenants a parking bill, not time records.

OP is lying.

Why would someone do that?

I was surprised when I heard too, but apparently his building gives him logs of the parking cards' use.

um, whether the tenant gets them or not, tenant can obviously request the time records if needed.
