Bros, got a friend who I used to be much closer buddies with in the past, but have not really hung out at all with for 2 years except a couple times. Was good friends with the family - would go over for holiday parties, stuff like that. No falling out, just been busy, still shot the occasionally bullshit joke text.
Not invited to the engagement party which was like 8 months ago. Now get a invite to the wedding in june. They've been planning this for a while, so I highly doubt they just sent out the invitations, unless they did a save the date earlier? This looks like he waited to see how many no rsvps would come in and then i got the invite, right?

wedding invites typically go out 2-3 months before the event so it's unlikely you're on the b-list.
but even if you are on the b-list, get over it, since you're clearly not a close friend.

LOL at OP caring about this and overthinking this.
It's stressful planning a wedding and getting the invitations out is just one of the many things they need to do. 2 months out is perfectly normal.

To be honest, I don't think my wife and I even did "Save the Date" cards. I know a lot of couples do, but not everyone does.
If you read any of those wedding etiquette Q&A sites, they'll tell you that unless it's a destination wedding, 6-8 weeks before the wedding is the appropriate time to send invitations. I wouldn't assume you're getting slighted here - my guess is that they didn't do Save the Dates, and you got your invitation at the same time as everyone else.

or they didn't have your address until very recently.
was it a snail mail invite or an e-invite?
2 months isn't abnormal unless you'd have to travel far.
