it will be way more expensive to work in Berkeley and live in the Bay. Sacramento weather sucks, but its kinda booming right now, and there is a growing urban type scene, although people are generally trashier.
What is the salary comparison?

I won't say one or the other, but i'll list the pros and cons
Sacramento:
Pros: cheaper, more attractive women, better weather (aside from hotter summers but there's the lake and the river), surprisingly good food, 2 hours from "everything" (Tahoe, SF,.....Chico if you like), 30 minutes from wine country, 30 minutes from the foothills/folsom lake, pretty mid/downtown area with lots of trees, good craft beer scene.
Cons: dumbs/proles, not much nightlife, kinda boring metro-scene.
Berkeley:
Pros: SF metro area is bigger/more nightlife/more stuff to do, more food options esp. if you go out of Berkeley, not as hot in the summer, closer to Napa, close to Santa Cruz.
Cons: shitty clammy weather a lot of the time, high COL, shitlibs shitlibs and more shitlibs.
The choice is yours, breh.

I will say that the nightlife/stuff to do thing starts to be pretty important. There just isn't a big music scene in Sac or much else going on.
If you are used to being in a city where there's a lot to do, might come as a shock. It's mainly bar hopping and some mediocre clubs. Old Sac has some saloons though which is cool.

Pretty good amount of them yeah. They tend to be somewhat chill though as far as dumbs/proles go. And there are less of them in the actual city than in some of the surrounding areas like Elverta and Rio Linda. The people in the surrounding suburbs (like Rocklin, Roseville, Granite Bay and El Dorado Hills) are more educated but they are kind of insufferable...a lot like OC folks only even more provincial if you can believe it.
There is a good mixture of ethnic people too in some areas....which isn't necessarily a bad thing since there are all kinds of good Asian/Ethnic grocery stores and good ethnic restaurants.

Yeah bro Sac women are hot. Possibly better than Socal women because they're all-natural.
They're somewhat chill too but don't expect to find many smart women you can have good conversations with.

People in CA really knock Sacramento, but it's 172 compared to many flyover cities.
Living in Oakland and working in Berkeley could be fun for a few years, though.

That's quite a commute. 1.5 hours in good traffic.

Mainly because you have to leave early enough and it's hard to get your ass up before there's traffic on the weekend.
Still, never takes more than 3 hours max. Definitely a place you can visit every other weekend.

Live in SF, take BART to Berkeley. /thread
How has no one else suggested this? The COL is horrible, but that's the only downside that I see. There's no way I would live in Sacramento if I were single. If the job pays well, you might be able to fuck proles/dumbs who are impressed by the fact that you have a job that pays more than minimum wage, but personally I would never be interested in a relationship with a prole/dumb. The pool of high quality women is simply orders of magnitude larger in the Bay Area.

Hi. Native Californian here, spent plenty of time in both.
Sacramento is a festering large animal anus. If you choose Sacramento over Berkeley - a place with a high quality of life and a relatively easy commute to the coast or to two real, currently booming cities (plus San Jose, not that you'd ever want to go there), you are a total fucking retard who deserves the shitty, smog-tinged 95 degree days you're soon going to be suffering through next to the shithead proles you live by.
HTH.
PS. Rudolph, like normal, is completely and utterly wrong.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this but Sac is ghe-toe AF. Go to Oakpark get your brains blown out by black bloods, go to Florin get your brains blown out by Azns (yeah not the XO type), go just 5 mins out of downtown get your brains blown out by Nortenos.
Oh and get this, go 30 mins out of Sac to woodland and get your brains blown out by a bro with a fat swatty on his neck. You faggots know shit about sac town so pls stfu

Sacramento area is very underrated. Being able to take a short drive up to Tahoe in the off-season is 180, and especially rad if you like to hike and camp. I thought the music scene and nightlife was real cool...a lot of great places downtown like Marilyn's, Old Ironsides, and Blue Lamp. When I was there, they used to have a concert in the park every Friday during the Summer, and everyone would go out to a bunch of downtown venues afterward. Girls up there were real cute and also cool to hang around.
I have spent most of my life in Southern California (LA or SD), and Sacramento wins hands down.
Bay Area blows. It is dirty, congested, and packed with a bunch of snobs. Oakland used to be a cool place to go, but its now filled with a bunch of know-nothing hipsters. For people in the know, Sacramento is an easy call here.
