No offense. Your post just makes me sad and reminds me of my former co-clerk: a 45 year old YLS grad-turned career federal law clerk that would constantly bitch about her empty bank account, which was empty because she was a federal employee in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Don't listen to people who say that you need 150K+ to live decently in NYC. Plenty of people don't make that money and live just fine.
But you need to find cheaper housing. I had a roommate and paid 1350 for rent. My take-home pay was about 4400. So that leaves ~3000 to spend/save. |
