I needed surgery which cost $8000, very glad my deductible was $1000. All these years before I never went to the doctor so I felt like I was paying into nothing but this has changed my view. does anyone else go over every year and actually take advantage of insurance?

nah i'm a salaried professional, but i'm in the rust belt and worker unions have a long history of hardball negotiation when it comes to benefits. it trickles down to salaried workers as a result.
