Here's UVA as an example. Total faculty payroll: $19.5M ($177k average)
Enrollment is a little over 1k, say an effective tuition of about $37k (tuition minus schollys), gives you about $40M of revenue. We see $19.5M going to faculty...what the fuck is the other $20.5M being spent on? Does it really take $20.5M for basic maintenance of a school? |
