so basically: I think the only drs that are worth anything are ortho, ophtho, ent, cardio. the only ones that actually have an enjoyable job are ortho and ophtho.
but I am not alpha enough to do ortho. I was thinking about interventional rad. but since I compared it to ortho, I can tell that IR is pure shit. all their operations are basically useless. that's why if I do rads, it is going to be MSK rads. but the thing is, I am afraid there is absolutely no demand for noninterventional rads. especially as imaging gets better it will not be too difficult to interpret your own images. |

Date: May 8th, 2014 2:57 PM Author: carmine concupiscible stage I don't think there are any studies. because a high % of people get cancer no matter what if they live long enough. but yeah IR and Cardio and Vascular surgeons get like a CT dose of radiation every weak. but most other radiologists don't do procedures... that's another reason why ortho is so cool. scoping does not even involve any radiation.

if I committed to ortho(assuming it's not too late to sign up for some auditions in Midwest), it's possible that I'd match for the following reasons: boards, physical attributes(my 30" waist is quite noticeable). aspieness does work against me.
but the problem is that even if u match ortho, it doesn't mean it's the specialty for you. u cannot be passive aggressive whether the patient is a fatso or a hot female athlete. btw his wife is a housewife that he met before he became a rich surgeon. |
