PhDs have the better options in this market. (COA is almost a given for non-PhDs.) CC, I have no idea, but if you can do "business law" you'll have options. UG it's mostly someone who does business law (usually a part of the business, econ, or polisci departments) and someone else in polisci who does con law-type stuff. But those sometimes aren't JDs, and the market is much more erratic for those law-related positions. At some institutions, it's just cross-taught by a law professor at the UG. |

But in this economy, VAPs are not getting placed into long-term gigs, so people are either returning to practice or sticking around for an extra year in the VAP. That means there are fewer VAPs as more are stuck in them. And it means you need to figure out what kind of success rate the VAP program has in placing people into T-T positions.
