tesla has longer range and network of superchargers for free.
BMW will give you a loaner car for road trips and is significantly cheaper.

Test drove the BMW i3, WOW. Instant torque is extremely fun. don't let the poor 0-60 fool you this car is very quick, you mash on the pedal and get thrown back into your seat.
I'd highly recommend this car for long term owners. The residual value will be shit due to battery degradation over time.
