Yeah it seems like there are a few transactional openings but not much in lit. I do water rights and environmental at my current firm. Both lit and counseling. I'm trying to start doing more general M&a type of stuff so I could try to make the case for getting a transactional position.

This is scary and I'm sorry to hear it. The few openings I've seen all seem to be transactional. I've convinced my current firm to let me start working on deals, and I'm hoping to pretend to be a transactional associate for purposes of job apps

Won't reveal my practice area because of Doobs. The positions are mostly with satellite offices of V100s. The Phoenix based firms seem to fill up on summer associate classes and don't have as much attrition.

Never understood this sentiment among are generation. Phoenix has great climate, great golf, access to great hiking, hot girls, good food, good nightlife in certain areas, all four major sports, decent COL, and very little traffic if you live in the right areas. I understand why it's not as popular as Denver or Portland among are SPS generation, but holy shit Phoenix is a better place to be than 90% of American cities.

It's not that hot 200 days a year. But it IS sunny 300 days a year and rarely gets colder than about 50. The fact is that people move to AZ for the climate because it's better than most of the US.

lol at "great golf." the courses generally suck and are expensive as fuck unless you're playing in 120 degrees.

my main problem is the heat and weather. I like to be outside a lot and that just isn't very fun in those temps unless you're literally doing nothing but chilling at a pool. I like a bit of weather and seasons too

it's fun at night though ill give you that

Are you a poor person who visits Phoenix in the summers? They have golf October through May, too, you know. Admittedly the prices are outrageous.

I think the courses are good but I haven't played that many.

no, but I don't like paying a shit ton to play a public course where you have to sit in a cart for 5+ hours.

If I lived in Phoenix I'd want to join a private club with a great course. the area doesnt offer that for any price, let alone one that makes sense at my salary. east coast and midwest cities(except SPS DC) all have clubs like this, and they're just about as playable in the winter as Phoenix ones are in summer
