the real reason for the difference is the fact that UG students are selected on the basis of SAT, so of course their SAT scores are going to be impressive. but LSAT scores aren't perfectly predicted by SAT scores -- probably more like a correlation of 0.7 or so, which is more typical -- so you have to take regression to the mean into account. it's also true that LSAT takers are a little smarter than SAT takers, but that only accounts for some of the difference. |
