At the top schools, the class medians the last year or two still seem to be higher than they were in 06-08 or so. But they're down a bit from the peak application years of 09-10 or 11. The bigger fall off can be seen once you get outside the top ~18, where both class sizes and entering stats are falling fast at a lot of schools.

T14 means nothing anymore. Three years ago T14 w/ little scholarship meant you had a very good shot at biglaw.

Not it's really only Yale, Harvard, and Stanford that are worth going at sticker. Rest of the T6 probably requires a $10-15K/year scholly to make risk/reward worth it. Rest of the T14 is at least 50% scholly to make it worth while. Anything beyond that, unless super regional, you shouldn't go to law school unless you're getting a full ride.

I was very confused looking at Richmond's numbers. On the left they have medians of 161 and 3.54 - but I think that is applicants who received offers of admission but did not necessarily enroll (they say all 50 states here). On the right they have the enrolled class, which is 160 and 3.50 and a class size of 132. The ABA should prohibit that sort of misleading figures on the website.

I view these numbers as being indicative of grade inflation more than an intentional choice to favor GPA over LSAT. If anything, these school are probably more receptive to high LSAT splitters.

As long as your LSAT is to the right of the 75th percentile, you should be good.

Most directors of admission hate this question, because we don’t want our medians to be viewed as application guidelines. At Tulane, we look at the combination of the LSAT and GPA, and other factors are taken into account as well. Our decisions are based on the student’s entire application. A weak LSAT should be compensated for by a strong academic record, enthusiastic letters of recommendation, or some other indication of success.

Having said all of that, the median LSAT score for the students who enrolled in the fall of 2011 was 161, and the median undergraduate GPA for that group was 3.53.

You may find it more useful to know that the middle 50% of the class had LSAT scores between 158 and 163, and GPAs between 3.3 and 3.7."
