it makes sense for some. dont underestimate how bad the job market is right now. there are a lot of above average intelligence bros with useless UG degrees.

how? going back and getting a 2nd BA in STEM, especially software engineering, makes far more sense for someone with a worthless humanities degree. there's plenty of things people can do. law school is just the easy path for people who don't want to have a stigma of "doing something weird" like going back for a 2nd BA. they want their lives to have a neat narrative to present to family and friends.

if you can cop t14 with money of t6 at all and have a decent work ethic, it could make sense if you get nojerbed and/or you don't want to slog through years working your way up through shitty salesy jobs.

Your average philosophy major doesn't have what it takes to do STEM especially in an accelerated BA program. a lot of them require prereqs. Most software engineering jobs are also absolute shit. biglaw sucks, but i'd rather fuck around with documents all day than work in some shit software engineering job that will probably get outsourced.

if you can get into a good business school that is almost always a better option though.

At my T10 it was a lot of state school grads with shit liberal arts degrees that probably would have no shot at a decent b-school. however, a shitty b-school might have still been a better option.

i definitely didn't understand why the fuck there were people from top undergrads there though. you can work any shitjerb for a few years and probably get into a respectable b school just on your undergrad name.

people are getting CBs and offers at my v50 that wouldn't have gotten a sniff even 2012-2013

most people just go because the professors have free beer during the week to get people to come to class. one dude is a falconer and goes to the law school to fly his bird around. it's a red tailed hawk so people call him a fake falconer

I have a buddy who is graduating this year and actually had a good outcome. Kind of embarrassing for me because I was always shitting on law school in the xoxo kind of way and told him it was a dumb move that would never work

does that "good outcome" involve a biglaw job he will flame out of in 3-4 years, leaving him in the exact same position he was before law school (but 6-7 years older)???

Yeah but he lived in a small town with no upward advancement possibilities in his career and instead got to chill in law school for three years and then move to NYC and have sex with a bunch of girls

He got fee waivers from HYS so it just makes sense for him.

There are way more interesting exits from TFA than law school. People are literally going to Google, McKinsey, starting ed tech companies or joining startups. Going to ls after TFA is a waste. Why even do TFA in the first place?

To go against the sentiments here I think this might be a good time for liberal arts shitheads to be going to law school if they can stand the work and stick it out for biglaw because the market might actually start to correct itself. A top b school is better, if you can make that work.... but a lot of those dudes just end up becoming bullshit marketing managers for the next bullshit startup and bounce around for years doing that shit.
