biglaw lateral here, just moved to new firm that is on cravath scale. just curious: what is bonus situation, since I will have only been here about 2 months at the close of the billable hour year. any insights? do my hours really matter over the next few months?

tru. honestly didnt eve occur to me at the time. the paperwork just said bonuses are awarded at firm discretion-- seemed fair to me. my old firm didnt have lockstep bonuses and tended to be very low except for superstars.

depends what's in your offer letter / what you negotiated or were told when you signed up. it's pretty case by case. at best you'll get a pro-rated share of the lockstep bonus, but you might not get anything for joining so late in the year. retarded of you not to have discuss this with them.
