Sounds like you're making some...interesting financial decisions.

I do not understand these people with 150k in debt who are in a rush to drop 25-35k on a ring/wedding. Believe me, I get the social/family pressure, but it's not worth the financial headache.

I'll make sure to put my life on hold for 4 years until I have my loans paid off. I can get these years back. I can't, however, afford a little bit more interest accruing on my loans.

And the condo will likely be a great investment.

It does feel great, but I've dropped to minimum payments for a while in order to prioritize saving for a home and because I took a >50% pay cut to go into gov't. Savings aren't minimal, about $30K not counting retirement. But this was with a dual-income household (second income is about $40K) and a firm that paid above market.

Depends on how you define it, I guess. When you put it like that, sure. But it's over 6 months of expenses for me, and keeping more than that in the bank seemed excessive until I started saving for a home, which was a recent decision.

Meh - max 401k, maybe 20k+ in other random assets/investments. Bought a real expensive ring. Paid for half of wedding. So that blows.

Arguable alcohol. Won't lie that I live pretty large. Can't remember the last time I said no due to insufficient funds. Plan on going govt or some shit eventually. Or whatever. Don't really think about shit very much

Yep. Sometimes I stress about it. Then I realize ISIS will kill me or I'll have a hemorrhage or some shit before it matters anyways. Fuck it.
