Seems like non-profits have a bunch of rich kids while biglaw is at least half poors with debt. The other half in biglaw is semi-rich kids who couldn't think of anything better to do with their lives.

to be fair most young people at non-profits aren't even making living wages. these careers inherently attract the family money/entitled types. most non-profits are in DC, SF, and NYC and the only way the people working there can make it by is if Mommy and Daddy are paying rent.

they essentially just prance around DC, writing reports that no one will read or going to meetings about nothing for 35 hours a week and then they're off to Brooklyn for the weekend. It honestly sounds terrible to me; there is nothing on the horizon; these types are completely dependent on what they're parents did in life and they're probably just intelligent enough to know that they're work is not impacting anyone and they will never make more than 100k

what about non profit lawyers though? seems like they actually practice the law, which i cant say we do in biglaw

i dont really get what non lawyers do for non profits - probably writing reports nobody reads

biglaw is stuffed fucking full of bitter middle class strivers who want to claw their way up to slightly more affluent social status at all costs.

the biggest dbags are the super middle class types who strive to be "rich," not realizing they will never get there without connections

You're just now realizing non-profits are heavily staffed by the children/trophy wives of their major donors? Biglaw is for strivers with no connections or quantitative skills.

having rich parents is overrated unless they literally give you access to millions.

LJL at being on an allowance at age 35.

It was my understanding that non-profits were for women whose husbands are in Biglaw.
