Oh this is the classic 0L shitlib.

Almost no one becomes an environmental lawyer and the ones who do end up becoming corporate lackeys trying to justify/minimize financial risk of pollution. They'll tell you why this is actually getting them to the goal of why they went to law school but it's all flame.
NRDC or EPA = YLS/HLS types and almost all of the EPA jobs outside of their likely impenetrable OGC will be JD-not required policy gigs that no one gets, anyway.

a lot of lit against government regulators.
they're all shitheads, and shitty lawyers, and lazy as fuck. easy to shut down, but they whine and complain and show up ex parte for everything to try and avoid actual legal work (briefing, real arguments, etc.).
it kind of sucks in that your client will almost always pay some money and the other side will claim they "won" b/c most of the time your client needs to pay some settlement in the end or gets some de minimis judgment.
unless you're some gov fag. then you always "win", no matter how shitty you are.

a lot of the poasts itt suggesting these people just end up going the corporate route cuz of dat $$$
what if you get a full ride somewhere? should work to prevent that temptation yeah? then maybe go on to do reasonably interesting but lower-paying work?
what if you come in with a strong science background?

there just aren't many enviro jobs period. limited on the government/enforcement side, and it is truly awful and unrewarding work. defense work is soulless, as you can see from the esteemed poster 'lunch' losing his shit ITT. there is another shitlaw hustler group that essentially just sues the EPA, but the relevancy of that dried up a long time ago. there isn't much cohesive 'environmental work' now outside of paper shuffling battles over regs that corps don't like and cost-shifting. 1% of 'environmental lawyers' do something interesting or meaningful, and that's taken out of an already very small group.
"what if you come in with a strong science background?"
fucking LOLforever at this mattering at all. lawyers hire people with a 'strong science background' i.e. a pay for play academic if they need to feign credibility in the rare instance this shit is left up to a decision. did you confuse shit environmental work with the patent bar?
