My GF should inherit a good amount unless her parents #Bbbooooooom it away, still doesn't make her more happy and she'll be paying off loans forever because there's no guarantee
the mistake xo and other anti-debt sites make re: law school costs, which are obviously out of whack don't get me wrong, is that a fair # of law students have rich parents and end up w/ 0 debt

Yeah, this.
What's their cash flow? Real net worth? How many houses?
There's middle class who pay full sticker and then there's "rich."

My s/o went to law school and parents paid full price. S/O is in a relatively chill non-profit.
Parents paid $800,000 for two kids' educations. Rich people will pay money out the ass for their kids' educations.
One of my cousins has blown maybe 600,000-700,000 alone on education accumulating multiple (some bullshit) degrees. Yes, 600-700k for one person. My uncle and aunt are really, really, really rich and pay out the ass for all of their kids.

Yeah, we don't have a family, and I'm in biglaw (but with loans).
If my family were loaded, I wouldn't be in biglaw (and maybe not a lawyer).
Their family makes almost twice as much as me from interest on investments each year. Working a job to serve others is TTT and not a great way to make money. The only rich people I know are entrepreneurs.

because then you aren't your own boss. I don't want to work for some douchebag micro managing me. Serving customers is different, imo, than serving a douchebag who is micromanaging me.
I grew up around a ton of millionaires cause I have a ton in my family and I went to private school for most of my life (even though my parents aren't millionaires). I might have a skewed perception, but all of these people made money owning a business , investing in a start up, or through real estate. I haven't met any legit millionaires (except for partners) who were made through working a normal typical job. And life seems a lot better for these business owners (half of them doing nothing all day, making money through investments) than partners, etc. working their asses off (well some of them) until they die.
Part of doing well in business is luck though, so working a normal job is a lot more stable in comparison.
