The Department of Public Safety has been informed by three female St. John’s students that while off-campus on separate occasions listed below, each student was harassed by the unknown male described. The incidents occurred on Union Tpke between Surrey Pl and Gate #4 (175 St).

In two of the occurrences, the male spoke to the students and asked them if they worked out. The male then went on to comment about their “veins” asking if they always pop out like that. In the third incident, the male attempted to take a picture of the student, but did not speak with her. On all three instances, the male followed the females back towards campus while either using or pretending to use his phone. The male did not follow the students onto the campus and did not touch them.

The New York City Police Department has been notified of these occurrences and is investigating these cases.

Friday 9/26/14 – 1:35 p.m. inside Barnes and Noble 176-60 Union Tpke

Monday 9/22/14 – 12:50 p.m. outside Union Tpke and Surrey Pl

Monday 9/15/14 – 2 p.m. outside Union Tpke and 177 St

Description of suspect:

Male, White, mid to late 20’s, 5’6-5’8” tall, 135-160 pounds, short to medium length light brown or blond hair, blue eyes, with a goatee.

While we know it is never the victim’s fault, there are some things we can do to help protect ourselves. Public Safety would like to remind the University community to be cognizant of your surroundings when walking off-campus, and to walk with others whenever possible. If you are alone, do not walk with headphones on. Immediately notify 911 and Public Safety as soon as possible after an incident. Similarly, if you observe any type of suspicious activity immediately notify 911 and Public Safety.

During all three incidents, the women laughed and playfully flirted with the young man. Each woman invited him back to their dorms where both oral and anal sex took place within minutes. The man was described as being "hot" and "totally sexy," and was invited back for future sexual encounters by all three women.

Suspect is described as male, white, mid to late 20’s, 6’1-6’4” tall, 180-210 pounds, short to medium length light brown or blond hair, and blue eyes.
