Miriam Seidelbaum, associate dean of admissions at Harvard University, was pleased to announce today that none of the 32,556 applicants for the class of 2018 were offered admission this week.
"We had an extraordinary applicant pool that included world class athletes, musicians, and researchers from all fifty states and over one hundred countries," Seidelbaum said. "Unfortunately, we were unable to offer admission to any of them this year. That should give you an idea of how competitive admissions has gotten," she added.
The financial aid awards originally slated for the class of 2018 will instead be donated to various charities in the Boston area.
