I need a job. Badly. I'm currently unemployed and I am nearing my first year of having received my law license. To this date I have not worked as an Attorney. I realize at this point I will probably never work as an Attorney (not going solo) and so I'm considering alternative options. I worked as a paralegal for 2 years prior to law school (my only real work experience) and I'm thinking of applying to paralegal positions, screw being an attorney. I would be submitting my resume with a 3 year work gap and I would be removing any mention of my JD, bar admission, and legal internships for the past 3 years. Basically erasing the last 3 years of my life. I'm not too concerned about the gap, but I'm a bit nervous about getting hired and then they find out I'm an attorney. Just wondering if anyone has gone back to being a paralegal after getting a JD, what your experience in applying for jobs was like, what approach you took (i.e. full disclosure or not), and whether I just shouldn't go down this road. Honestly, I'm just trying to get my life back.

i did it. was a biglawyer but had personal problems and was fired. was no longer employable as a lawyer and needed a job, so i just scrubbed it from my resume and started hunting for anything i could find. ended up taking a temp assistant gig at a firm and they offered me a full-time paralegal position by the end of the 2nd week. 80k, good benefits, and most every day is 8-4:30.
