Um.

So I feel like this is pretty dumb but I just got a conditional offer at a new firm. They need to do a background and conflicts check, which I know is standard. They've asked for info on clients I've repped for the last five years, what I repped them for and who were other parties and law firms involved.

This is fine for law suits and public deals. But what do you do if the whole thing was confidential? A deal that didn't go through, an internal investigation or advisory matter?

Just not sure and at least half of my past work falls into this category.
