i briefly considered law school in college, only because all my friends were doing it. this was when law was actually prestigious and popular. LJL.
but in all seriousness, i find law terribly boring and am genuinely passionate about finance. doing law is unthinkable.
as for your last comment, those are prestigious chicago firms, but if we're talking pure professional prestige, citadel/alyeska/magnetar/madison dearborn/gtcr, all PWN law firms.
