I'm suposedly on partner track at my v100 firm and have done well building a relationship at a big client through a former colleague (at a different firm) that's now inhouse at that client. That said, I'm 3+ years away from being considered for partner, and making partner here doesn't mean the big comp like it does in NYC. Though the work demand are a lot less too. My client development could pay off, but is a ways away and certainly some internal politics to navigate in terms of actually getting credit since it is technically an existing client.

1) should I stick it out here for 3+ more years and see where things go?

2) go inhouse at F100 with similar comp but little near term advancement opportunity, though I could do that for ~3 years and then switch to another inhouse job. Quality of life would be better, but somewhat of a motivation killer with no advancement in sight.

3) wait around here for something different that would get me excited, though i don't know what that realistically would be so could be waiting for nothing
