He was otherwise very risk averse. Actually liked the work ok but hated the partners he worked for. One day just quit. Was unemployed for a while but eventually ended up w/ ok inhouse job. His wife was in dental school so he had a possible lifeline down the road but she had debt too.

Just something to think about w/ all these 'net worth' threads

Finding a job while unemployed is more difficult but it's not really that much more difficult if your creds are solid.

I'm not sure the size really matters either. Obviously if you are a shit interviewer or your creds are shit, it gets tougher.

He sounds spoiled. Seriously. There is no case where this is justified. If they make unreasonable demands he can fail to perform and they can fire him, but that's another scenario and would likely buy him enough time to find something else while still employed.

Not something I would do, and although I'm sure he would've eventually been fired for bad attitude, he definitely didn't quit bc he didn't want to be fired.

How does this make him spoiled?

He wasn't happy so rather than toughing it out like an adult while looking for a new job he quit in a huff.

He obviously lost a large amount of money by walking out which is why most people wouldn't do it, but that's a hell of a lot more respectable than job searching on the firms dime like most people do.

I sorta quit biglaw with a ton of debt with nothing lined up. "Lucked out" and was only unemployed like 6 weeks. I actually wish I was unemployed longer.

This time tomorrow where will we be

On a spaceship somewhere sailing across an empty sea

This time tomorrow what will we know

Well we still be here watching an in-flight movie show

I'll leave the sun behind me and watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by

Seven miles below me I can see the world and it ain't so big at all

This time tomorrow what will we see

Field full of houses, endless rows of crowded streets

I don't where I'm going, I don't want to see

I feel the world below me looking up at me

Leave the sun behind me, and watch the clouds as they sadly pass me by

And I'm in perpetual motion and the world below doesn't matter much to me

This time tomorrow where will we be

On a spaceship somewhere sailing across any empty sea

This time tomorrow, this time tomorrow
