I've lost 6 lbs. Wife has lost 8 lbs. Wife looks fricking awesome, better than she did prior to babby formation. We are having sex nightly for almost 10 days straight, which is crazy for an old married couple. Just kind of can't keep my hands off of her.

My workouts are much better. More energy. Just happier generally.

No cravings at all for coffee, dairy, complex carbs or sugar. Had a glass of wine last night as a special occasion and it took me over an hour to drink, and without any self-regulating. Was just natural. Before I started this diet, I'd drink a bottle in that period of time if I wasn't regulating.

I don't care what you call it, but whatever I did, so far it has really worked.

17 more days, hopefully another 5-7 lbs, and then just slide and let do after that. Pretty sure my brain cravings will be changed for awhile after this, and that I'll probably continue losing weight naturally.

It is the above, but now watch everyone make fun of this.

This is way oversimplified, but in a nutshell, rules are:

- No dairy

- No alcohol (I break this one a little bit to keep sane)

- No sugar

- No salt

- No complex carbs

- No coffee (you can have caffine, but coffee is too acidic)

- No vinegar

- Only certain fruits (ie: berries, but not bananas)

- Only organic lean meats

- Only organic foods

- Only eat every 4-6 hours (no snacking)

- Don't eat after 8pm

For meals, 80% veggies, 20% protein and certain slow acting carbs.

This is way oversimplified, but more or less right. Within these constrains, you eat more or less as much as you want.

Yes acidity. The idea is to reintroduce that and other things that were cut at the end of the program, one by one, and see how your body responds.

I'm just going with it, either way. This program worked for everyone I know, all of whom were in good shape beforehand and I need food rules anyway.

sounds pretty legit

most of these just don't work because people are in starvation mode and don't actually take seriously the "slow reintegration" period that's essential for metabolism, adjustment, adherence, etc.

in general completely restricting food groups is problematic but in bursts it can be good to, as this program calls it, "reset"

good luck

You're mostly losing water weight. You could be getting the same results on any diet that restricts cals, limits you to mostly whole foods, and cuts out caffeine and alcohol.

Paying to do something consistently causes people to feel like they are getting much better results and helps them stay dedicated. Even though it's superficially very, very stupid to pay a website to put you on a 30 day diet, it's actually probably helping you quite a bit with the mental component.

well, I'm drinking about as much water as I can, but I probably am losing some water weight. With out all the sodium, the bloat goes down a ton, which is probably why my wife looks so much different.

I would though be surprised if I've been eating about 800 calories less per day on avg...which would result in a 3 lb weight loss.

You could be close to 3 lbs. of actual lost body weight, but not much more than that. In that respect, the diet is no different than any other calorie crash. Keep in mind that this shit isn't metabolically much different than standard yo-yo and crash diets.

The difference is that you are restricting the types of foods you eat in a way that your body doesn't want them anymore....so after the "diet" is over, you keep losing weight or maintain because you've changed what your body wants.

Colleague and his wife who did it before me says he just doesn't want fast acting carbs at all anymore...and if you put a piece of bread in front of him, he just isn't interested anymore (and used to love bread), and this is 2 years after he did the "diet".

So it is a little different than a regular diet.

Alcohol is a huge weight loss sticking point for people who aren't seriously fat but could still stand to lose some weight. Most people who drink casually end up losing 5-10 lbs. any time they give up booze for a few months regardless of whatever else they do. I love drinking, but it fucks with everything and makes getting leaned out nearly impossible unless you work out like a beast.

Not much. Make a big vegetable protein shake thing for breakfast which doesn't take long, pre-made salad for lunch, and then wife has dinner ready when I get home. When I have gone out to dinner, it took about 20 minutes to order and the waitress hated us. Went over to my buddy's to watch the NC game and brought an extra salad I bought at lunch.

If you didn't have my wife, it could take a little while to make dinner....otherwise it is easy.

No salt is pretty dumb and useless unless you have dangerously high blood pressure. Sodium is an essential electrolyte and there's nothing wrong with it in normal moderation. The idea that you somehow cleanse or change your body by abstaining for a set period of time is just false.

My mom and I have very low blood pressure. One night she got up to use the bathroom. She got light headed and passed out on the way back and broke her ankle. I found out she'd gone to a nutritionist or dietician or some bullshit artist who put her on a low sodium diet. You can't do that if you have low blood pressure.

dude, the only things that matter are no sugar, no complex carbs, and berries only for fruit (related to sugar/carbs) and no alcohol (carbs, and duh)

The rest is pretty meaningless. Anyone who goes from eating carb-laiden processed shit to a low-carb diet is going to feel incredible, lose weight, and shed cravings. As I've been preaching for years, it really is the correct way for humans to eat.

You are close to right, although I actually think the "no/low salt" is actually helpful for my wife. She just looks a lot smaller, even if she has only lost 3-4 lbs of real weight. And after doing this, supposedly the amount of salt you need to get the taste, is a fraction of what you were using before.

Many things could explain your wife dropping bloat quickly, but it all just comes down to water. More than sodium content in your diet causes you to hold water, especially women, and simply hydrating better will cause the average woman to immediately shed 2-3 lbs. of water bloat over a period of a few days. I was a trainer in college to make extra money, and I would demand that female clients drink 3.5 liters of water every day for the first week, and they would always immediately slim down. I did this because it made them think my training and diet tips were some kind of miracle solution and they would usually get me on retainer for several months based on that one dumb scam.

yeah sodium makes you retain water and look puffy, so limiting salt will help that. also helps prevent the cravings for sweet that eventually follow.

but eating no salt is a pretty ascetic way to live and isn't that sustainable. low carb is, however, so this is what you should stick to.

I know a married couple who did a carbs only on weekends lifestyle. Seemed pretty credited.

Definitely not no salt at all, but after this month I think I will have reset my tolerance/need for salt, so that I will need a lot less.

Like anything else, I think you build up a tolerance for salt, and eventually what used to seem really salty doesn't anymore. That was the point I had reach, and wanted to pull back from. It is similar to tolerance for spicy foods, except too much spice isn't bad for you.

After years of being involved with this stuff, I agree this is the credited approach.

Limit carbs. Eat high quality food focusing on lean protein and vegetables. Keep calories limited. Hydrate.

If almost any person does these simple things for several months, they'll see serious body transformation.
