Weird. When I first went to a dr about anxiety years ago and I told him I drank he tried to steer me to antidepressants bc I could drink on them much more safely than with benzos. I can drink fine on benzos as long as I leave 4+ hours in between them and alcohol. Guess you don't really have that lag time option with lexapro

dr said it was nbd to drink on lexapro. Sounds like it is an issue for some people.

Not a good idea to drink right after taking a benzo, but benzos wear off in a few hours so I've never had a problem drinking the same day as taking a benzo provided I waited 4+ hours. With lexapro, you can't just plan out a 4 hour buffer

You're thinking of Prozac, which takes forever to start working. Lexapro is like a super-fast prozac. When I tried Prozac, I didn't feel anything for a week and a half, so I stopped. When I started taking Lexapro, I felt it within an hour or two. I'm still taking it today (about 6 months later).

Lexapro bro checking in: You will feel relaxed and happy. Yes, you'll get drunk much more quickly. You will also feel kind of tired.

Also, when you first start taking Lexapro, you will feel brain fog. When I started taking Lexapro, the brain fog was pretty bad for a day or two, then started to taper off. The brain fog will clear out completely after the first few weeks of taking the drug.

EDIT: I forgot the dick thing. Your dick won't get hard on Lexapro, although - a few months from now - you'll notice that it is able to get hard when you haven't taken Lexapro in 24 hours (i.e. right before you're supposed to take your next dose).

I also get really vivid dreams on Lexapro - those are always kind of a mindfuck. Get any of those yet?

I've only been on it for a week. I feel more relaxed but things aren't crazy at work right now so hard to say whether it's working yet. No brain fog, actually much more clear headed as anxiety often fucks with my concentration. I had a hard time sleeping the first few days but also had been drinking a lot over the holidays and then wasn't last week so not sure. slept great last night just with melatonin

A few weeks at that 15 mg dose. It wasn't so much feeling better/different as it is no longer feeling scared of another upcoming panic attack. Shit ain't a cure all but it means now I could focus on the rest of my life. It just removed panic attacks from the equation. For that, it is 180.

I'm also exercising more, eating better, and drinking less, so I actually feel better than a week ago. Now curious if any of this if from the meds. I've done the other stuff without meds before and it only helped slightly

Felt pretty groggy this morning despite having slept a lot, but I take Lexapro in the morning so could be the herbal supplement I'm taking for sleep

Start taking Lexapro at night before you go to sleep, instead of in the mornings.

Take half in the am and half at night - that way he has enough in his system during the day

Any particular supplements that don't interact well with lexapro that I should avoid? Been taking sleep aid w/ melatonin, l-theanine, and ashwaganda

No grogginess this morning. No major benefits yet. Not much anxiety today but relatively easy work day
