I find the owl theory more plausible than the staircase, but there should have been significant evidence outside if that was the case. Ultimately what sold me on his guilt was the 911 call that started it all. Who would see someone lying there in all that blood and assume "fell down the stairs?" She was absolutely attacked in some way. The defense theories about slipping and falling while trying to get up made zero sense and their reenactments at the scene were laughable.
Michael was never once emotional. Really only when they played the 911 calls. I thought that was bizarre too. He didn't seem at all sad that his wife was gone, nor was he surprised by the verdict. Those writings of his that Kathleen's sister found were very disturbing. I think he probably didn't kill Elizabeth based on the rigor mortis and migraine evidence, but I think it inspired the staircase claim for Kathleen.
All that being said, I was SHOCKED when they came back with a guilty verdict. I really thought there wasn't enough to convict. Great recommendation by the OP. |
