I was not at Penn. One of M or V.
Vast majority of my medianish friends got BigLaw SA. Lots of people were able to get BigLaw by graduation if they missed out on getting a summer associate gig. Had one friend (white male) who had like a 3.1 and multiple BigLaw offers (though in less desirable markets, like Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, etc.).
If most of your median grades were not getting offers, they were probably either socially inept or were gunning for DC.
Ending up in secondary market when you wanted DC/MFH = still getting BigLaw. You're in no way fucked in that situation. I went to a secondary market by choice and could easily lateral to a MFH BigLaw if I wanted. Common knowledge is that most firms actually underhired in c/o 2012 and 2013 and are short on juniors in some practice areas.

Corporate America decided to get serious about costs at the same time technology and contractors took away serious revenue streams. So it's shrinking.
But I think that the law will still be part of the way the world operates in 100 years and the profession will live on.

Op is an exaggerating dumbass. There is a middle ground between "nobody gets big law" and law being the ticket to riches.
Also, dude above claiming that secondary city outposts of major firms are just handing out offers to median MVP kids is full of shit

Graduated from a middling T14 two years ago and I didn't know anyone who graduated unemployed, besides one or two of the token super-awkward kids. The majority of my friends who wanted biglaw got it, and everyone else got government, mid-sized or boutique firms, or public interest.
Doesn't mean law school doesn't suck though. $150k in debt for a miserable job you'll hate after 1 year is a bad trade.
