Like a good time because you love studying the law, or a good time because you find classes tolerable and are able to find a way to stay afloat academically while also having a good time socially?

The latter is very normal. Former, not so much.

the latter, although the classes can be interesting 2L and 3l. but law school is enjoyable mostly because in your last 2 years you do very little actual "law school" if you play your cards right and dont do faggy journals or moot court

The people who really love law school either think the law is a fascinating intellectual subject matter or they want to save the world. Such people are quickly disillusioned when they start practicing law.

Woah-oh-oh-oh

It's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh

It's always a good time

Woke up on the right side of the bed

What's up with this Contracts case inside my head?

Hands up if you're down to get called on tonight

Cuz it's always a good time.

Slept in all my clothes like I didn't care

Hopped into a cab, take me to a class anywhere

I'm in if you're down to get Torts tonight

Cuz it's always a good time

Good morning and good night

I'll wake up at twilight

It's gonna be alright

We don't even have to gun

It's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh

It's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh

We don't even have to gun, it's always a good time.

Freaked out dropped my casebook in the pool again

Checked out of my dorm hit the ATM

Let's bang out a study session if you're down to get A's tonight

Cuz it's always a good time

Good morning and good night

I'll wake up at twilight

It's gonna be alright we don't even have to gun

It should be a really great time and I really enjoyed my social life during that period and to an extent enjoyed the scholarship, but your should not regard it as the best time of your life. That is probably reserved for college or the first time you are single and flush with cash.

What's funny is that all xoxo posters say that law school is full of dorks who aren't as cool as them and all the cool people they wee friends with in college.

Why don't all these cool people who are disgusted with the law school dorks get together and be friends then?

I had a lot of fun in law school and I think any normal person can find a few decent people to hang out with out of a pool of several hundred people.

OK but everyone on xoxo says "Everyone in LS is a loser dork. It's certainly not my fault that I'm not having fun or making friends because I was really cool and had tons of friends in college." Since there are so many super cool people who hate the law school scene Why don't they band together and form a social circle?

Why even bother with going to class though. This is what I mean, law school is full of those loser tryhards who come to class doing shots when there is no reason to even be in class in the first place. The "cool" kids in law school are the ones you can tell were never considered cool at any other point in their life and this is their big chance to be one of the fratty bros. It's pretty lame man

SEC undergrad T-14 LS. Spent most of 3L in europe with my bros.

Most of the fun people in my LS were long gone by 3L

I had a blast but mostly because I hung out with college and high school bros and travelled a bunch. Law school would have just been boring had I stayed near school.

Not weird to in spite of it.

The weird part are the people that love being LS and everything about it. I made it a point to live it up as hard as I could when I wasn't dealing with LS bullshit.

the "school" part of law school was largely a waste of time after 1L year but I had a great time, had time to take care of myself, etc. when i'm billing 14 hour days i often long for those days

Some people hear enjoying school and jump to thinking that you just fucking love reading cases. I think those that tie "enjoying school" to being some weirdo who, you know, just loves the law and wants to make a difference man, are the real weirdos.

I enjoyed law school because I liked my friends there, particularly because none of them gave a fuck and the goal was to do as little work possible, nothing at all for the good of humanity while trying to find a good job.

Law school sucks, even when it doesn't.

Yea I had a great time 2L and 3L, but only because i literally lived in another city and did absolutely nothing for class. This was a great time but it's also fucking annoying you pay 50k a year to essentially do nothing but wait for the degree. Law school kids are boring, overly politically correct and rarely fun. It's not that bad after 1L but the idea that it's the most fun time in your life or anything other than a complete waste of time/really expensive 2 year vacation is bullshit.

"Law school kids are boring, overly politically correct and rarely fun."

You had to live in a different city because you couldn't find friends and you're throwing stones at other people for not being fun? There are cool people at every law school, you either were the "I'm too cool for this shit type," some kind of weirdo non-trad, or a combination of the two.

There are not cool people at every law school. There are a handful of bros I went out with 1L who were really wild but they all bounced after 1L also. Law school kids are risk averse and boring, their idea of fun is to have 3 beers and stand around at a bar talking about ugly chicks or class.

I don't know what to tell you bro. In my experience, when people can't find anyone around them who are remotely similar in what they're looking for socially, it's not the people around them that are the problem.

3 year vacation from work. Summer firm jobs were awesome. All the time off to travel was awesome. The actual law school part wasn't anything special, but overall, it was a good three years. Hell of a lot better than working.

If you didn't have anything on the line (full scholarship, job lined up, independent wealth, etc.), it seems like it would be fun to bro out on your classmates. By this I mean be that chill, laid back guy, but also serve as a foil to the neurotic types, thereby subtly making fun of their craziness.

I had a few good bros (and broettes) and the same gf for most of it, and it was fun for a bit. 2L and 3L years I got antsy. I hated the classes, didn't like the pseudo-intellectual aspect of it, tired quickly of the gunners who read the cases and every supplement available, didn't like the politicizing of everything, and didn't like living like a poor. It also started feeling very small and every conversation was related to class, gossip, or about callbacks/firms.

In hindsight, I would have enjoyed it more had I worked for a year or two first instead of going straight through. Also, I would have tried for JD/MBA instead of just wanting to GTFO of school.

I can imagine this if you don't do journal, take classes that require no time commitment (or are taught by the rare professor that makes class interesting), and don't have to take out loans. The loans part killed me, especially for 3L--it was incredibly disheartening to build up more and more debt for something that had close to zero value and was often quite dull.
