It sounds dumb, but this is the only way to get past the first round review by HR idiots who don't know what to look for except the exact language from the posting.
Network like crazy. Have coffee with everyone you know who works in fedgov, or who knows someone who works in fedgov. Take up everyone who offers to put you in touch with anyone they know in fedgov. It's really annoying but this is a huge part of how this shit works. |

The pay sucks, but you get to run your own cases early on and you aren't ground to death. We had a second year leave for a biglaw firm and he's working insane hours and doing doc review/writing memos. I get recruiter calls for biglaw jobs that id probably get because they're traditional labor but I never return them. I think the firm is catching wind of how the pay blows because I got a bump to 180 last week.
