Why will conservatives not condemn cold-blooded murders by governmental agents? If this guy was white, this is literally the great conservative fear, that someone from the government will shoot them when they don't have their gun.

We have now crossed the threshold from "the suspect was threatening me from 30 feet with a knife, so I shot him" to "the suspect was alive and within my range of vision, so I shot him." Seriously, how is disobeying a police order to not approach now a death penalty offense? Especially here, Ruben may not even speak english. So he may not have been acting in violation of any order that he was aware of.

Dashboard camera footage from Friday’s fatal police shooting shows a man ignoring officer instructions and approaching the squad car before being shot, police said.

Footage from Grapevine Officer Robert Clark’s dashboard camera shows 31-year-old Ruben Villalpando of North Richland Hills walking toward Clark’s vehicle with his hands up despite instructions telling him to stop, said police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling.

Eberling said Villalpando, who was unarmed, was told to keep his hands out of the vehicle, but instead got out of his car and walked to the front bumper of Clark’s patrol vehicle. He was out of view of the camera when Clark fired two shots after telling Villalpando to get back to his car.

Clark called dispatch and reported that shots were fired and requested paramedics. Villalpando was flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where he later died.

The chase began after Clark was dispatched about 6:20 p.m. to a business alarm at Academic Health Plan in the 3500 block of W.D. Tate Avenue, in Grapevine. The call turned out to be a false alarm, and as Clark was leaving the parking lot he saw Villalpando’s Toyota stopped in the driveway of the parking lot, Eberling said.

Clark turned on his emergency lights, but Villalpando drove out of the parking lot and onto the southbound service road of State Highway 121. Eberling said Clark turned on his siren and followed Villalpando who had sped onto the highway.

Eberling said the video shows Villalpando weaving through and around heavy traffic and driving on the shoulder to evade Clark before stopping on the outside shoulder of the Cheek Sparger exit.

Euless police responded to the shooting and are investigating the criminal aspects of the case and Grapevine is continuing its investigation into Clark’s actions. He remains on routine administrative leave.
