I used to be devoted to Braun, and Braun is still great. But I had the same problem with irritation on the neck, and I made the switch to the top-of-the-line Panasonic, and I'm very happy with it.

I have the ES-LV61. There may be a newer model by now.

I'd advise against getting the freestanding charger/cleaner -- it works perfectly well if you just rinse it out with soap once a week.
