LSAT - less than 10. I was completely unprepared.

BAR - Easily 200 hours of self study on top of going to about half of the bar prep sessions. Firm had given me a bar stipend and had basically told me that I would be in danger of losing my gig if I failed. I didn't take any chances and WAY over prepared.

LSAT: I took two prep courses over the course of 9 months. I didn't study for the LSAT every day during those 9 months, but suffice it to say I think I studied for the LSAT at least 50 hours.

Bar exam: never took the bar exam

lsat: tons. kaplan let me teach it having never taken it, based on my sat score from high school (hah). feel sorry for my guinea pig students, but nothing like teaching something to learn it. also got the powerscore bibles and access to all prior tests kaplan had. score went from low 160s to high 170s. 175 on the real thing.

bar: i pushed cramming too far- totally underestimated sheer volume of material and figured i could treat it like finals. i went to the first two of three barbri classes. did nothing else until last 8 days, where i basically turned into a zombie. had to skip some state-specific sessions entirely. had to study new material between day 1 and day 2. and was so exhausted that despite adrenaline, started nodding off on day 2. passed. but barely. knew i'd failed. and not worth it, in retrospect. most miserable week of my life.
