I actually wasn't expecting to be subject to the AMT now that I live in a state without state income tax, but I'm playing around with turbotax and looks like I will.
Anyone else want to bash this TTT?
EDIT: Actual Stats:
$250k W-2 income, $7k interest/dividends cap gains, total = $257k
$Itemized deductions = $20k ($2.5k sales tax, $11k property tax,$6k mortgage interest, $.5k charity).

The charity and mortgage interest are irrelevant.
I got wiped out by AMT as well, but after paying $20,000+ in state taxes and $5,000 in property tax.
You should not be paying AMT with those deductions.
