So far I've only heard from H (early action) and will hear from YPS soon (received likely letter from S and Y, so those I can expect).

Assume all 4 as options. I have no friends that have ever gone to these kinds of schools. There is no knowledgeable college advice at my school so my sole source of info is internet. Can anyone with knowledge, either through a prep school experience where I take it they are very knowledgeable about these things, or otherwise knowledgeable about these colleges, give me some tips about how you're supposed to decide?

I ask b/c I assumed that these 4 schools are virtually the same in almost every way, and so you just pick the one that is most prestigious (I think that's H, right?). But I did visit Yale and Harvard -- the tour guides were annoying and pretentious. As far as I can tell Yale seems awesome with their residential college system. Harvard's weird version of that is some complicated bullshit that will probably just annoy me in the future. Food is better at Yale and campus looks nicer. Students ugly at both but not as ugly at Yale. Yale has a nicer schedule (lots of long breaks). Love the restaurants in new haven

Harvard: ugly campus everything spread out, terrible schedule -- few, short breaks). Oh and what is the deal with no one being able to answer a simple question about "Social life?" without talking about "extracurricular activities." Extracurricular activities means something different from social life." To me, social life means spending weekends drinking and going to parties. And also, I have the feeling that even when H has good classes, you can't take them because they all have massive lotteries.

My view can't be accurate because if it were the case no one would have any reason to go to harvard other than prestige. Please advise.
