If you are an atheist or hate religion, please stay out of this thread. My Grandmother is 82, and she has been suffering from arthritic pain lately, especially in her knees and feet. She has been having trouble walking and uses a cane but still has trouble getting around. At this point she can barely walk. We've been looking into getting a power-chair for her but she was never good with money and barely has enough to to pay her rent. Even still, she refuses to be put into a nursing home. She has stated many times that it would be the worst thing she could imagine.
We visit her often and she always asks us to pray with her, and we gladly oblige and always pray with her before we leave and she gets ready for bed. Last night we were praying and there was a certain feeling in the air. We could all feel the Holy Spirit's presence. We began with the Lord's prayer and then she went into her own prayer.
She is known for her ability to speak in tongues at certain times, and I've only ever witnessed it a few times. Well, she began to speak in tongues and we could all feel the Lord tugging on our heart strings. Just then she began shaking and stood up and began to start walking, and then starting jogging, and started to zoom around the room. It was an amazing sight to behold. She tripped and snapped her ankle and soiled herself, and died at the hospital a few hours ago, but I will never forget that miracle.
Have any of you ever witnessed a miracle?

former christian, now an atheist. i too used to speak in tongues. it's a sham; just gobbly doo induced by chemical reactions in our brain. when people are in the midst of extremely emotional experiences, our brains will make us do some really weird shit.
there is no such thing as miracles, supernatural, or a deity of any sort. having said that, my condolences for your loss.
