no shit, barely any millennials have space for fucking hand me down blanket, let alone a gaudy 20 foot dining room table that was never even used but was quickly surrounded by discarded ab rollers, shake weights, a stairstepper and a nordic track

My mom's house is filled with garbage and junk that she has been hoarding since the 1980s. It's a fucking disaster, and I basically told her to throw it all away. She still has unopened moving boxes from 1992 and refuses to part with anything. The garage is cluttered with so much crap that she can't even fit her lawnmower, much less a car. What is wrong with these people?

same. I once tried to throw away a stack of Good Housekeeping magazines from literally 1993 in my parent's garage, and my mom yelled at me. Her bedroom is a disaster, and even the guest room is unusable due to piles of old clothes that she somehow thinks she can sell.

Wow, millenials are lazy. Sounds like a lot of that stuff they could turn around and sell. Actually boomers are too - some rich friends of my parents remodeled, and wanted to get a lot of the old stuff hauled off to the dump. But it was going to cost a lot, so m dad volunteered to do so for free - sold a nice oven for $4000, a wine closet for $1100, etc. Stuff like silver is just free money.

I agree with this, but think about like people working big law in NY. Your mom in Ohio calls you and tells you they're throwing out the fine dining table from your childhood unless you can get there in 36 hours days to pick it up. Sometimes even free money isn't economically worthwhile.
