I am an engineer. Take it from me, Phil->Law is a better option than Engineering ->Stay in Engineering.

Reasons:

1. Salary cap is much lower in Engineering compared to Biglaw/Good Boutique Law (30% in top 10 LS).

2. Fate of an old engineer is nothing short of shameful, barring few exceptions.

rofl. What does he think the fate of a burned out 5th year is?

These people deserve all the misery coming to them.

he's not really wrong. the shrewd engineers cop M7 and go back to tech in management roles. engineering often has a low ceiling or is outsourced at a lot of companies. there are senior engineers who are probably getting pwend by phil-> HYS lawyers. not that it's a better path in general, but engineering isn't always a gilded path to riches

Thing is, if you're good enough to make it as a Phil-JD, then you can be a brilliant engineer who never stops soaring to the stars
