Thoughts on leaving Biglaw partner-track (as in, real shot at breakfast in 2 years) senior associate position for 40% paycut and eBay lifestyle?

Interesting.

PayPal spin off won't help, I suppose.

Agree they have better prospects for the future than Yahoo?

This would be for a specific business unit that isn't the main auction service ... A unit with plenty of future promise I think

I don't know. Yahoo seems like they are on the right track and already went through the growth pains. Ebay is a large whale that can't grow its revenue so will have to keep cutting costs. It's like they announce a new round of significant layoffs every quarter, but still hire. It's weird.

Not sure eBay has a great long-term future. Paypal is going to be gone, and what's remaining is a husk of an auction-site that has awkwardly transitioned into a crap low-market store and has continually pushed out the customers and sellers that used to make its base for powersellers.

But anything is better than biglaw. So there's that.

Would Apple be on the list of better in house jobs in your view?

Seems to be better pay but closer to Biglaw work
